Privacy
This is a place to keep proof of what's changing in your life. What you write here is yours. Here's plainly what happens to it.
What is stored
The moments you write and their dates; the reflections and perspectives the app writes back to you; the tags attached to your moments; and your appearance settings — colours, type and light or dark mode.
Your words are stored exactly as you wrote them. Nothing is edited, shortened or rewritten behind your back.
If you use the app without an account, everything lives in this browser's local storage. If you sign in, your data is stored in your account instead.
Who can see it
Your entries are private to your account. They are not public, not shared with other users, not sold, and not used to advertise to you.
Without an account, your entries are stored in this browser. When you request an AI-generated reflection or perspective, relevant text may be securely sent to our AI provider to generate that response. With an account, your writing is locked to your account so no other account can read it. It is stored on hosting and database services that Show Me Evidence uses to run — the people who operate those services can technically access stored data in the course of maintaining them, which is true of any app. Show Me Evidence does not use your entries for advertising or profiling.
Who runs Show Me Evidence
Show Me Evidence is built and run by one person, not a company. If you want to ask something, correct something, or have your data removed, write to me through the contact page.
Services used to run it
Hosting, database and sign-in. Your account and your saved writing live in a hosted database provided through Lovable Cloud, which also handles signing in.
AI writing service. Your entries are not sent to AI while you are capturing, browsing the archive, tagging, or reading. When you open Show Me Evidence and a new reflection needs to be generated, the relevant entries are sent through Lovable's AI gateway to a Google Gemini model, which writes the reflection and sends it back. The same happens when you explicitly ask for a new reflection or a new perspective. Only the information needed to write that response is sent. The returned reflection or perspective is saved to your account if you are signed in, or to this browser if you are not. What those providers do with a request on their side is governed by their own terms, not by a promise I can make for them.
Email. Sign-in and password emails, and messages sent through the contact page, are delivered by email infrastructure provided through Lovable Cloud and a mail forwarding service.
Each of these services only processes what's needed to provide that feature.
What is collected and why
The moments, tags, reflections and perspectives you create — so the app can show them back to you. Your email address — so you can sign in and so your writing follows you across devices. Your appearance settings — so the app looks the way you left it. A message you send through the contact page, with the name and email you type — so I can read and reply to it.
There is no advertising, no profiling, and no third-party tracking of what you write.
How long it's kept
Everything you write stays until you delete it. Deleting a moment, reflection or perspective removes it. Deleting your account removes your account and everything stored with it. Contact messages are kept until they're read and deleted by me.
Your control
You can delete any moment, reflection or perspective at any time — the delete option sits on each one. Deleting removes it from your account or from this browser.
You can export a backup copy of everything you've recorded from the bottom of the Archive, and keep it wherever you like.
You can permanently delete your account from the Account section at the bottom of the app. That removes your moments, tags, reflections, perspectives and settings, then deletes the sign-in account itself and signs you out. Anything saved in this browser without an account is left alone.
Your privacy rights
If you live somewhere with privacy laws such as the UK or EU GDPR, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Both a copy and deletion are available directly in the app — export from the Archive, delete from the Account section — and you can also write to me and I'll do it.
Accounts
Signing in uses your email address, or Google if you choose it. That's used to keep your writing with you across devices and for nothing else.
If you already have local moments when you sign in or create an account, you'll be asked whether to move them into your account. If you choose not to, they stay in this browser.
Contact
Questions or feedback? Use the contact page. Your message is emailed to me and a copy is kept in the app's private owner view so it can be read and replied to. It is never mixed in with anyone's moments, and it can be deleted at any time.
